Glidepath’s Global Growth Continues to Accelerate


 

Solidifying its position in Australia as the preferred baggage handling supplier, Glidepath has been selected to provide a multi million dollar upgrade to the arrivals area at Sydney Airports T1. This project together with the recently supplied check-in conveyers for Jet Star Sydney and upcoming Checked Baggage Screening (CBS) integration projects at Newcastle, Port Hedland and Newman Airports, supports Glidepath's successful expansion of its Australian operations.


Glidepath has also been selected to supply a new multi-million dollar baggage handling system for Christchurch International Airport's new integrated terminal project.
Further afield, Glidepath have secured a multi-million contract to supply a CBS transfer baggage system at Muscat International Airport, Oman along with a second contract to extend an existing reclaim carousel.


In India, Glidepath are supplying 2 Inclined Dispenser carousels for Mumbai Airport and 4 Inclined Dispensers for Chennai Airport.
At Iquique Airport in Chile, South America, Glidepath will be installing three reclaim carousels and an outbound baggage handling system with integrated X-ray screening.


In the South Pacific, Glidepath have just completed developments at Rarotonga International Airport in the Cook Islands, Pago Pago International Airport in American Samoa and a check-in extension at Dunedin Airport in New Zealand
Toluca, Mexico, the project we introduced in our last issue of GlideNews is now being installed and commissioned by Glidepath. This airport expansion project is an in-line EDS system capable of processing 450 bags per hour.


Nassau International Airport has once again contracted Glidepath USA for a new project to design and install an inbound baggage claim system. This system utilizes the Glidepath Inclined Dispenser carousel and general transport feed conveyors which will be matched to existing claim configurations.


The US Department of Homeland Security - Transport Security Agency has selected Glidepath's strategic partner, Vaculex, for the supply of vacuum assist lifting devices to enhance the ergonomics of screening operations at the Indianapolis International Airport's new midfield terminal. Glidepath will be installing twelve units in the third quarter of this year. This order follows on the heels of Dallas Love Field and Reno International Airport who have also installed Vaculex systems.
Burlington Airport in Vermont has contracted Glidepath to install a flat plate claim device. This is the first time we have been back to Burlington since we last installed two claim units and 2 make-up units in 1987. It just goes to prove that Glidepath equipment is built to last!


On the technology front Glidepath continues to push forward and is now involved in the detailed design of 3 new systems incorporating RFID.
It is anticipated that the first of these projects will become operational later this year, and further details will be released in due course. Watch
